The Eternal Rome
What could I tell you about Rome? It's just one of the towns where you should have been once in your lifetime. See as much as you can by walking through the town. It is an absoulte must to see the Piazza Navona, maybe one of the most beautiful places of the world. Take your time to breathe in the atmosphere there. Don't shy to pay the entry for the colosseum, a real impressing building. Also very impressing and worth visiting are the Forum Romanum and the Vatican state. All in all Rome is one of the cities that you must have seen!

Lipari, Main Island Of The Eolic Isles
Lipari is the main island of the Eolic islands, an island-group north of Sicily. This group of islands is known from the island Stromboli and the movie with Ingrid Bergmann. Lipari is a wonderful island, worth visiting by using a motorbike around the island. A tip for having a good meal is the tavern: "La Cambusa"

Vulcano - Welcome To The Smoke
Vulcano is the neighbour island to Lipari. When you get a strange smell in your nose it does not refer to the Bean-Soup of the day before. The two highlights of the island are taking a sulfur-bath, heated by the hot sulphur of the vulcan. And you should walk up to the top of the crater. Therefor you might need 60-90 minutes and enough water. The pictures you might get are fascinating and you surely get used to the smell.

Palermo - The Positive Surprise
On October 3 we went to Palermo, which is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. Take a walk over one of the markets or walk along the Via Vittorio Emmanuele II down to the port. Palermo doesn't deserve its bad reputation.
And again: Only taking a walk shows you the best places!
Cefalu - Sympathic Holiday-Place in the North
On Oct. 4 we went from Trabia to Cefalu, which is the only real holiday-village on Sicilias North. It has a nice sandy beach and pittoresque back roads where you find a lot of photo-motives. It is known for a jesus-mosaic in it's cathedral. You make the village in half a day and can use the other half for swimming or just to take a gelati, a cappuccino or a glass of wine in one of the beautiful cafes.

Taormina - Old Town On The Rock
After moving to the east-coast to Giardini-Naxos we we went to Taormina on Oct. 7, This place is located 200 mtrs above the see on a rock. It's well known for the renewed Greek-Roman amphitheatre, which is used for performances again.
After a perfect lunch at "Mamma Rosa" we walked down to the sea-side where we found a perfect Sicilian trattoria at the wonderful Lido di Isola Bella.

And A Little More...
On Oct. 6 we went once around the Etna by train. The "Ferrovia Circumetnea" is not a touristic attraction. It is a simple local-train for the people living on the back-side of the vulcano. On the westside the clouds went away and we took a look at the "Mountain Of The Mountains".

From Oct. 8 to 9 we stayed at Syracuse, which is a town you should not miss because of its archeological sites. Bad luck we had with the weather. Too many clouds for good pictures.
We will never forget our so called "Hotel" where we didn't want to stay longer than this very night.
