Vilnius - Capitol Of Lithuania
Labas Dienas - After about 20 hrs by train we reached Vilnius on Apr. 20. The Capitol of Lithuania is very clean and visitable. Although there were big problems with the language, people were very friendly and helpful. As Erik, a student, was guiding us through the city, just after we got to know him at lunchtime. Thx to Erik!

Riga - Capitol Of Latvia
Labrid! Welcome to Riga. Again we visit a proper city with friendly and open-minded people. It is very pleasant to walk around in the old wown where many houses have been renewed since the land has split off the Soviet Union. Only the weather prevent us from photographical highlights.
Cesis & Jurmala - Excursions in Latvia
Jurmala is a holiday-village close to Riga. While we were there it seemed to be kind of sad. On a sunshine day of course this should be different!

Cesis is the centre of the Gauja National Park in the "Livlandic Switzerland". Here it was interesting to see the development of the country outside of the capitol.

Tartu - The Old Dorpat in Estonia
Tartu, formarly known as Dorpat, is "the" university-town of Estonia and is crowded with young people. Combined with the beautiful architecture and the nice pubs and restaurants they give the town a very special atmosphere.
Tallinn (Reval) - Capitol Of Estonia
Tallinn is the capitol of the Baltic state which has done the biggest step forward. The city is visitable - everything concentrates around the castle hill - but compared to our other goals a little more expensive. Maybe it is because Estonia is so close to Finland.

Joudkrante - Our First Visit To The Curonian Split
Our first visit to the Curonian Split lead us to the Village Juodkrante. A visit, which impressed us very much because of the beauty of the landscape."
Nida - At The Edge Of The Dunes
Nida - the capitol of The Curonian Split - lies on the edge of the biggest wandering dunes of Europe. The fantastic combination of forests, the beach and the desert makes this place unique. So unique that the author Thomas Mann used to spend his holidays here.

Krakau - Travelling Home Through Poland
Travelling home we stayed in Krakow for two days. The special thing here is the old architecture combined with a young atmosphere because Krakow hosts the oldest university of Poland. You can feel that especially in the numerous comfortable Cafes of the city.
